Day - 3 Effective teaching - Case Study 1

She is a teacher profile of the most common in schools, she is that teacher who is appreciated for being close and for positive treatment of students, parents, and colleagues, however, it is a certainty that her teaching process most of the time is not the best, and is far away from a real learning process. She gets very good grades in the performance evaluations, in the evaluations and opinions of parents and students, but when we make a review of the learning process of the learning generated in her students these are not the expected ones and the fundamental of her role as an educator does not exist.  Being kind and friendly with students as a teacher is important because it creates a positive and supportive learning environment. When teachers approach their role with empathy and kindness, they cultivate a sense of trust and safety that encourages students to engage actively in their learning process. By showing care and empathy, teachers build strong relationships with their students, which are fundamental to academic success. It promotes open communication, making it easier for students to get help when needed and participate in class. As I mentioned this connection is important for the learning process however, it is important to identify that the fundamental goal of a teacher is to guarantee a learning process and to promote it in the students to get the best out of them.  To be a teacher is to guide the learning process and it is not easy to assume the role of being an educator who has all the tools to achieve this purpose is not easy. Always behind this purpose is that as an educator you improve day by day to be more effective in the teaching process and how you combine this with the other factors related to the school environment. There is a borderline between a kind teacher and an effective teacher, Being a kind teacher and an effective teacher are not mutually exclusive; in fact, they often go hand in hand to create an impactful learning process. A kind teacher is a more supportive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel valued, respected, and safe to express themselves. This kindness build a strong connection between teacher-student relationships, essential for fostering trust and collaboration in the learning process. On the other hand, an effective teacher prioritizes academic standards, engaging teaching methods, and meaningful learning outcomes. By challenging students and providing them with the necessary skills and knowledge, an effective teacher empowers them to achieve their academic goals and reach their full potential. When kindness and effectiveness are combined, teachers can inspire and motivate students to excel academically while also supporting their social-emotional growth, ultimately creating a dynamic and enriching the learning process.
