Make 2 minutes of feedback at the end of the practice with each student-athlete of
the team to feedback about their own basketball process and the opportunities
for improvement. Record the feedback in Google Sheets.
Feedback is crucial in the learning process as it clarifies expectations, guides improvement, promotes self-reflection, motivates students, facilitates engagement, builds confidence, and enhances learning outcomes. It helps students understand their performance levels, identify strengths and weaknesses, and provide actionable advice for improvement. Effective feedback, whether formative, summative, peer, or self-assessed, should be specific, timely, constructive, clear, and relevant. Regular, balanced feedback promotes active participation and makes the students responsible for their own learning, reduces anxiety by providing clear progress, and and critical thinking. In basketball coaching, implementing regular check-ins, using different resources for efficient feedback management, developing peer and self-assessment, and creating an open, supportive communication environment can significantly improve performance and learning among the students.
